Do any of you always seem to crave something sweet after you eat dinner, or really any other meal?

💥Well if this is happening to you on a regular basis, it could very well mean the carbohydrates that you’re eating are most likely not digesting well, and that there’s inflammation in your gut💥

Long-stoy short..digestion support is needed to get rid of these post-meal sugar cravings❗

Digestive juices in the gut aren’t digesting your food, and there are a number of reasons why that could be:

🔴You aren’t chewing your food well.
🔴You always feel stressed.
🔴You’re eating your meals on the go.

5️⃣ Drink more water between meals rather than with meals to avoid diluting stomach acid which is vital for optimal digestion.

6️⃣ Ditch the artificial sweeteners. These have been shown to drastically alter gut bacteria which we already know is a very important part of healthy digestion and overall health.

7️⃣ Boost your stomach acid by:
• Add freshly squeezed lemon juice to the water you drink between meals 🍋
•Drink 1-2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar in a small amount of water before each meal, or add it onto a salad.

Wondering if your body is stuck in a chronic state

Wondering if your body is stuck in a chronic state of ‘FIGHT OR FLIGHT’ mode?? 😩

Many of us have become accustomed to functioning in the sympathetic nervous system AKA ➡️ “fight or flight” mode.

We push through our pain, we live a non-stop busy life (now allowing our bodies time to slow down and rest, we put other’s needs before our own, and we constantly feel overwhelmed by everything we need to get done..

When this becomes the normal and the parasympathetic nervous system AKA “rest, digest, & nest” gets pushed aside, this is when your body, mind and wellness begin to DYSREGULATED❗️

If you’re struggling with several of the above symptoms here are simple 8 things you can do to focus on resting, slowing down, and optimizing your body to heal ⬇️

1️⃣Start your day by scheduling in 10--15 minutes to do a calming activity. It can be drawing, coloring, doing a puzzle, reading a book, listening to calming music, or whatever calms you.

2️⃣Don't skip breakfast. This will help to bring your cortisol down each morning and assist with balancing blood sugar levels.

3️⃣Drink 3L of water a day. Your cells need water. More water= more energy. Focus on hydrating your colon and flushing your system of built up toxins.

4️⃣Aim to put your phone away at least an hour before bedtime, and perhaps for 2-3 hours during the day. Your nervous system becomes overstimulated from notifications and multitasking.

Each step of the healing journey is crucial, but I’ve found that as you focus first on enabling your body to heal (nervous system, emotions, mindset, stress resilience, and truly understanding yourself - reactions and responses)..

1️⃣ In this first step you want to get your body out the of fight or flight state (which is restricting healing), and shift into a rest and digest state which enables healing. This is the base of healing before diet and lifestyle changes should be made. You must focus on processing emotions/traumas, chronic stress, resting and slowing down.

Then move onto support the immune system and inflammation pathways (along with detoxification, the gut, and digestion)..

2️⃣ We always start focusing on the gut because the biggest part of the immune system is in the gut. Start by reducing inflammation in the gut to reduce inflammatory pathways like prostaglandins that help that cramping feeling when your period comes or even during ovulation.

And finalize the healing process with the health foundations (nutrition, supplementation, movement, environment, routines, and self-live & self-compassion) that you start to see your results AMPLIFIED❗️

3️⃣ The two important factors in this step are consistency and self-love. Routine allows for consistency and making the things happen you need to do actually doable. And self-love because we are way too hard on ourselves; especially when we’re suffering. You think you should be able to figure it out in your own, not ask for help, or are simply hard on yourself. You need to give yourself grace and permission to seek help from others around you.

This is when you begin to see true healing and finally see results as you approach healing in this order.

You’ll no longer feel stuck, or wonder why the changes you’re making aren’t improving your pain & symptoms.

You’ll begin to physically, emotionally, and mentally feel and notice improvements in your pain and start feeling like yourself again.. Feeling FREE from Endo and all the overwhelm it brings into your life 🙌🏻

ENDOMETRIOSIS IS A WHOLE BODY DISEASE❗️

➡️ Which factors do you believe are contributing to your Endo pain & symptoms?? 🤔

First things first, endometriosis is a chronic illness that’s on the rise.

And it’s not just the ovaries are messed up, but so much more than that..

We need to look at endometriosis in a whole body perspective.

Now if endometriosis was simply genetic we would have the exact same numbers as we have children.

There are chronic illnesses out there where individuals are genetically predetermined, however endometriosis is not predetermined genetically. Just because you have this particular gene does not predetermine you, however it does predispose you to dealing with endometriosis..

This is where the predetermined isn’t happening because there are many other factors at play including:

➡️ GENETIC FACTORS

➡️ EPIGENETIC FACTORS: how genes are turned off and on based on their environment, interaction + more (and how that’s impacting our genetics)

➡️ INFLAMMATORY FACTORS: Inflammatory chemicals play a big role in the growth and development of endometriosis. Focusing on reducing the body’s inflammation is KEY to reducing pain & symptoms.

➡️ IMMUNE PATHWAY FACTORS: these pathways protect us when we get hurt.

➡️ NERVOUS SYSTEM & ENDOCRINE SYSTEMS: our nervous system is our response system which can be found all over our body. This system signals our endocrine system (our hormonal system) via the HPA axis. Which is all involved in endometriosis.

➡️ DIGESTION & DETOXIFICATION: We see time and time again digestion being impaired as those with endo suffer from GI issues

➡️ NUTRITION, LIFESTYLE & ENVIRONMENT: All impact our overall health and well-being more than we might know.

Each of these factors impact whether a predisposition for endometriosis is going to become a predetermination.

Are summer months the WORST for your Endometriosis pain & flare-ups?? 🫠

This is actually pretty common, and here are some reasons why.. ⬇️

1️⃣ DEHYDRATION: Roughly 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.. When your body is dehyrated the following can happen = your reproductive system can’t function at normal capacity, decreases amount of cervical mucous you produce and negatively impacts your menstrual cycle, muscle spasms and cramps & disrupts your body’s ability to have regular bowel movements and detoxify properly!

2️⃣ BAROMETRIC CHANGES: It’s common for a drop in barometric pressure to occur during the summer season. Some people are more sensitive to these weather changes; which can cause tissue to expand, more stiffness, pain, and swelling.

3️⃣ HUMIDITY: High humidity can affect pain perception, making the air feel heavier. The higher temps can cause blood vessels to dilate, leading to increased blood flow to the affected areas; enhancing your inflammation, swelling and stiffness in the joints & pain.

4️⃣ DISRUPTED ROUTINE & STRESS: Dealing with more stress due to overwhelm of not being able to fully enjoy your summer.

Have you made any of the same mistakes as me in your own Endometriosis healing journey?? 🙇🏻‍♀️

I made MANY mistakes along the way, learned A LOT about myself, and am SO proud of how far I’ve come after 20 years 👏🏻

➡️ What mistakes have you made during your healing journey with Endometriosis? What lesson did you learn because of that mistake?

Here’s just 6 mistakes I made + the lessons I learned:

1. PUSHING THROUGH THE PAIN & OVERWORKING MY BODY: This is probably the most important lesson I learned in my healing journey. I came to realize that if I wanted to heal I couldn’t continue overworking my body and putting myself in fight or flight mode. I needed to slow down, prioritize rest, and be in a relaxed state.

2. RELYING ON PAINKILLERS & THE PILL: No matter what your doctor tells you, going on the pill is not your only option for pain relief. The pill is only a “band-aid fix” for the time being, along with all other hormone therapy treatment. The goal should be to figure out the root cause of your pain.

3. DOWNPLAYED MY SYMPTOMS: This is one of the most common mistakes endowarriors make. Seeking medical advice and advocating for yourself early on can help in managing the condition more quickly and effectively.

4. ONLY RELYING ON SURGERY: Excision surgery can be an essential part of healing with Endo, but it’s not necessary for everyone. Surgery alone is not a guarantee your pain will go away. You need to change your lifestyle and have a personalized protocol to help relieve your pain.

5. ATE THE SAME FOODS EVERYDAY: Eating fruits and vegetables in a variety of colors is essential because each color of produce has its different health benefits, vitamins, and minerals. It took a lot of work to get out of that “picky eating” stage, but now I love most vegetables and spices. And fun fact, I can even eat bitter melon all on its own now haha.

6. DAILY INTENSE EXERCISE: To be honest, I don’t recommend exercise at the beginning of the healing process because you want to be in a resting state as much as possible All your body needs is gentle movement that is easy and slow paced to start, and you can work your way back up.
